Why is it #TimeForUnrest?

On the bottom Unrest social press kit you will find a download link to a prompt that says It’s #TimeforUnrest because… Share your story and/or why it’s time for unrest. You could also post a picture of yourself holding the It's #TimeforUnrest because... sign and use the #TimeforUnrest hashtag! Nothing has more power to change hearts and minds than a personal appeal. Encourage your friends and family to do the same!

Now You See Me

 

Now You See Me is a video project inviting anyone living with an invisible illness or disability to share their story. As we've traveled the world with Unrest we've heard countless stories of people living not only with ME but Fibromyalgia, depression, schizophrenia, epilepsy, lupus and a host of other "invisible" disabilities. Unrest brings audiences behind closed doors and inspires through its vulnerability others to share their hidden worlds. When we share our experiences, hidden pain can become transformed public pride – and power.

how to participate:

  • YouTube/Google Account
    In order to upload your video, you must have a valid YOUTUBE ACCOUNT.
  • Clear sound is crucial.
    If no one can hear it, no one will watch it. Make sure to shoot in quiet environments and project.
  • Don't backlight.
    Make sure light is on your face and not behind it — i.e. don't sit in front of a bright window.
  • Title and tag your video.
    Use the title "Now You See Me" and include your name and location - ex: "Now You See Me: Jennifer in Los Angeles".
    Use tags to describe your video so that other people can find it — ex: "Ehlers Danlos" or "Severe ME carer."
  • Include a caption script.
    If you can, SUBMIT A TRANSCRIPT OF YOUR VIDEO AS A CAPTION FILE ON YOUTUBE. This will help make sure your video is accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals as well as users internationally thanks to Google translate.
  • Share your video on social media using these hashtags: #TimeForUnrest #NowYouSeeMe

Please submit only one video under seven minutes in length.
